4 Forecast Optimization Solutions

4 Advanced Delivery Forecasting

One of RLS's most significant strategic advantages is its ability to calculate your required mix of company owned and rented vehicles and of full time and sub-contracted or part time personnel during peak and off peak months. In this way by maintaining a minimum fleet of company owned vehicles and a given percentage of rented or sub-contracted vehicles or employees (determined by RLS's Forecast Optimization Algorithm) you can forecast the number of vehicles, drivers, sub-contractors etc... your company will need to supply demand in any given month. As you can understand this feature greatly increases driver productivity and vehicle utilization and improves your profitability substantially even in off peak months.

4 Alternating Resource Management

RLS will enable your business to reduce your overall employee and vehicle requirements to a minimum full time base.

“Since installing RLS just over 2 years ago, Wild About Water has undergone a complete face lift. RLS enables us to reduce our overall employee and vehicle requirements to a minimum full time base. With the analysis made by RLS’s Routing module, we have been able to cut our fleet size by 22%. By using vehicles with a higher capacity, we have been able to increase the average number of deliveries from 25-35 per day. Although the inherent increase in the work load has necessitated a second worker in each vehicle, we have still been able to reduce our distribution costs by 30%. In the peak months as the product consumption increases and we place more trials, we employ new staff and rent additional vehicles on a short-term basis to meet the substantial increase in demand. We can therefore off-load the costly overhead associated with having a huge fleet of delivery vehicles, almost over-night if necessary.

This not only constitutes a substantial saving in terms of our vehicle and driver productivity, it also enables us to drive down our telemarketing costs as we no longer need to make unnecessary calls to customers who don’t need water.”

4 Route Automatization

RLS’s innovative and feature rich Route Automatization module now enables operation managers to calculate the required mix of company owned and rented vehicles and of full time and sub-contracted / part time personnel during peak and off peak months.

In this way by maintaining a minimum fleet of company owned vehicles and a given percentage of rented or sub-contracted vehicles or employees (determined by RLS’s forecast optimization algorithm) your Operations Manager will be able to forecast the number of vehicles, drivers, sub-contractors etc... your company will need to supply demand in any given month. This new feature greatly increases driver productivity and vehicle utilization as well as substantially improving the distributor’s profitability, even in off peak months.
